Born in 1985, Hamed Rafi is a freelance Iranian artist currently based in Stockholm, Sweden. He became interested in visual arts already when he was 7 years old through watching artworks in galleries and magazines, though by no means he could express himself at that age. His formal education in art started at the age of 14 in Tehran’s Sad Abad complex. For years, drawing was his only way to satisfy the eagerness to bring life into forms, and that thirst is still there. Over the past couple of years, he gradually moved toward the color with the pick of soft pastels as medium with dazzling colors and yet close to traditional drawing. Over the years he is trying to find his own style in drawing and painting with pastels and the work is in progress with still-life and figures. His recent studies include watercolor and some limited work with oil.
